It does not have to be the same address. All you need is the other parties written permission. Marriott Rewards Customer service faxed me a form for both parties to complete, sign and return. It had to be in conjunction with "cashing in" of an award. My sister-in-law did one for us and she lives 15 miles away and does not have the same last name. You may want to give them a call to verify as I am a Marriott Timeshare owner and not sure if that makes a difference.
