Some things to watch out for in the fly through lanes:
@YEG - Fly through shares the lane with families, wheelchairs, and airline escorted passengers. If a wheelchair comes through with airline escort, they will tie up the line for 4-5 minutes. Some times CATSA at YEG lets the fly through pax select any line, other times CATSA agents force the pax to use onoly the special priority lane.
@YVR - I get constantly selected as random person of the day. Thing is the person infront of me was also the random, as was the person behind me. Basically CATSA YVR sometimes uses Elite line on concourse C to get their daily/monthly random quotas completed. The CATSA agent told me this when I questions why everyone in Elite line was getting randomed. Their thought process is/was that by getting through their quotas with the Elite line, they were not making the regular line any faster.
@YYZ - no one pays attention to the elite/amex privileges and everyone can get through.
@YHZ - Priority line is their code word for families and Wheelchairs skip to the front. They get offended if you politely ask them if Elite pax are included.
@ All CATSA lines. Usually the Elite line is where training is conducted so that the regular line pax are not more inconvenienced by additional wait time.
