About ten years ago, I took one boomerang onto some QF internal flights in Australia. It was very obviously sticking out of my hand luggage for four flights. No problem with airport security but one purser told me I couldn't throw it while onboard the plane. Not sure whether he was joking or if some previous passenger had tried it.
