Flying BA or Finnair LHR-HEL will get you 1134 base miles (plus bonus miles if Silver/Gold but only on BA metal) and the higher 40TP in Y and 60TP in J.

But on longer short haul OW routes that BA does not fly, below the 2000 mile point at which long haul TP/miles cut in, the previous lesser TP arrangements remain in place. For example, SFO-ORD on AA gives you 1846 base miles but only 20TP in Y and 40TP in J.
