FYI was at the Park Hyatt Chicago, had two rooms, and was sent up as an Amenity two bottles of wines, and two cheese trays, one for each room. The bottles of wines were listed on the Bar menu at $80 each, retail $45 each.
That's a very nice welcome amenity^ I think a good hotel should offer a bottle of wine from its restaurant/bar menue as an amenity to demonstrate that the amenity is of value, which makes it a more meaningful gesture.
