I had an OK stay there. A couple of points, however. I was there during the SARS epidemic and the hotel was nearly empty. As a platinum member, I did not get my 500 bonus pts (had to request online), nor was I offered an upgrade. At $249 CDN, I think I should have been.

I stayed last week at the Hilton Toronto financial district on Richmond St for 159 CDN. Much nicer! Hardwood floors. Concierge was awesome and employees extremely helpful. They also have a pool table and free drinks all day. It is very well located at intersection of University and Richmond. Bar was quite nice - had a burger there that was to die for, and no I didn't get mad cow disease. You might want to check their rates for comparison. I found the location to be better than the Marriott's.

I highly recommend the Hippo tour. It's a bus that tours on land and into the harbor. Really fun and interesting.

Chinatown is awesome for some authentic Asian cuisine. The Indian restaurants on King St near the theaters are some of the best I have ever been to.

Have a great trip! Despite what the media says, everything is fine in Canada and has been for quite some time.

If you have time on your trip, drive 2 1/2 hrs north to Muskoka (cottage country). We stayed in Huntsville - really cute, peaceful, relaxing town. Many lakes there. We stayed at a B&B but Deerhurst is nice, too. Great golf courses abound. Bracebridge is where the rich folks go. Many mansions with boat houses that match - make sure to take the cruise on the lake.

We like Huntsville so much we are thinking of buying a place there.
