I recently did LHR-MIA-EZE in BA F followed by AA F and would rather go IB J any day ... assuming I was not in need of the extra TPs.
The MIA international-to-international connection is awful, the AA lounge at MIA is awful, and AA F come to think of it, is pretty awful too.
The IB or BA J short-hauls are perfectly acceptable - followed by as tight a connection in MAD as you can get and you're on your way in the (slopey) but comfy IB J seat / bed.
Obviously if you can get BA J to GRU however.. go for that! ^
