So basically this benefit is a complete waste atleast for me. Is there any way to get a suite upgrade on a points stay?

I too agree with the above sentiments. I find myself not needing/appreciating the Suite upgrades during business trips when I'm by myself. However if I'm with my family on an award/FFN stay, I'd love to be able to redeem my Suite upgrades.
I think a great compromise would be if Hyatt charged you "double" by allowing you to use TWO of your Confirmed Suite Upgrades for an award stay instead of one for a paid stay. In fact I'd probably even save up and trade all FOUR of my Confirmed Suite Upgrades in exchange for a 7 night upgrade on an FFN stay. Of course this might put too much of a strain on Suites at the vacation destinations such a the Hawaii/FL/CA Resorts. But it would certainly be a nice option.
That said, I also agree with many other posters: Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. I'm fully happy with the GP program right now and the actual enhancements they provided earlier this year. So if something as small as this is all we have to complain about, then we really have nothing to complain about at all.....................@:-)
