A321-what's so special about rows 15-16?
So I lost my status with US this year and am flying flight 965, PHL-SFO, on Tuesday in the back of the bus....row 30, to be exact. I was checking during the week to see if any Go Envoy seats would be available (they're not) and noticed that the plane was quite full. So, an hour ago, I looked at the seatmap and, all of a sudden, entire rows 15 and 16 open up as choice seats. My recollection is that there's nothing too special about these rows. So, where did the 12 passengers disappear to who were in those rows? Same thing happened on the earlier flight since I had been monitoring that too.
I suspect that they block off those rows as booked and, if the plane is full, unblock them so they get the extra revenue since some people may think these are pretty nice seats, since they're listed as choice, and will elect to change their seat.
