I am certainly not happy with all the TY Point changes, but I have to disagree with this conclusion, at least in my case. I have a PPE card with no annual fee for life per the original terms and conditions. Also, I have plenty of flight points each year to match my spending points 1 for 1. Therefore, I earn a minimum of 2 TY Points per $ on all spending and 4 TY Points per dollar on Select Spending, which of course includes many gift cards (Home Depot, restaraunts, etc.) that can be purchased at grocery/drug stores. The value of TY Points to me is ~1 cent/point given the variable option on Expedia for flights and hotels.
Bottom line for me... the PPE is a 2 to 4% benefit (average 3% +) Mastercard with no annual fee. Clearly better than the Schwab card.
