Joke? You've only been on FlyerTalk a very short time and have only posted in a single thread during this time. There was a complete consensus of closing that thread for right now and the impetus for the closure came directly from the members of FlyerTalk. For your benefit, let's review this.

First of all, the thread isn't locked because coins are unavailable, as you suggest. Rather since the mileage opportunity discussed in the thread has closed (at least for now), little is lost in locking a thread which has become mostly vicious political discourse.

This thread has seen the most moderator action of any thread in the history of the MilesBuzz forum. There have been hundreds of report bad posts, the need to delete threads, and attempts to keep members on topic in this thread every day. If you are looking to blame our Moderators, keep in mind that they have worked to protect members from themselves.

For now, since all that seems left of this mileage opportunity is to debate the politics of it, and since that debate seems to have turned towards the worst of OMNI, keeping the conversation open in the MilesBuzz forum seemed to serve no other purpose than to allow members to jeopardize their FlyerTalk posting privileges. Keep in mind that what you see is the filtered version, the ongoing attacks and other off-topic posts have been largely cleaned up.

Civility among our members is always of great concern. And while most of the abuse has been cleaned up, it certainly showed so signs of abating. Here's a sample of posts that were cleaned up and since you are a target of some of this, now maybe you can appreciate the decision a bit more:

Keep in mind what I have noted, "This thread has seen the most moderator action of any thread in the history of the MilesBuzz forum" and please, it is not because of Moderators, but because of the off-topic banter of members.

Joke? There's really no punch line on this one. If the mileage opportunity reopens itself, hopefully the members, including yourself will reflect that you have the absolute power in keeping threads open ... simply stay on topic.
