In any event why you would expect that qualifying 'twice over" would get you an extra year? Members dont get their status doubled by staying say 120 nights (double the number of nights requred to make Diamond) in HH properties and I would go further to say I dare you to find any loyality program which operates in the manner you ssemed to have expected.
