On a recent (full in J) HKG/YVR flight, my IFE was the only non-functioning. I didn't really care and appreciated the FA's efforts to reboot repeatedly. Was given a form to fill out and found 9,000 miles deposited to my account about a month later. Granted, this was an all-too-rare exception, but it did help take the dull sting out of too-many-to-remember or count service omissions in the past.
