Problem many on here have had (me included) is flights taken towards very end of EC year post in new EC year and do not count towards old year total unless you get EC to intervene and manually credit the tier points to the old year. You seem to be potentially in reverse situation where you would be quite happy if delay in posting tier points to your account meant that they counted towards your new year total.
Anyway, just a thought.
I have been in the situation where I flew a flight a few days before membership change. It originally posted to the new year but was transferred back out a few days later.
