My husband and I are doing BOS-PHL-LHR and the reverse in January: ex USA in whY and ex LHR in J (is it C for Envoy on US? It's called J for Club World on BA) anyway we're in Envoy on the return, and I was wondering a few things.
1) I know there's a LHR departure lounge and from what I gather it's the bmi Diamond Club Lounge in T1. Is this correct? If so, are there any good links to/or reviews of the lounge? If it's not bmi DC, what lounge is it, since apparently US pax can't access the main *A lounges in LHR (and we have no status anymore on *). Does US leave from T1?
2) The PHL Envoy Lounge is for departures only, correct? So does this mean there is no equivalent arrival lounge in PHL for pax in Envoy with F connections in the USA? We booked a four hour layover in case of weather/delay/PHL-ness, &ct., and would love a place to rest and maybe have a drink.
3) We're currently booked on 332s on both TATL segments, but I'm confused. The US.com seating chart in Envoy on the return shows only two seats in row 1, four rows total, and even 3A missing. My assumption is that the missing four seats in 1 are the magical GoEnvoySleeper seats, and the "booked" middle two seats in 1 are either payed for or held back...except Seat Guru shows a 332 with four rows and no sleeper seats and no extra bulkheads. So now I have no idea what the configuration is. Really, I just want to avoid row 2 if there's that extra bulkhead. Any advice/experience would be appreciated.
4) What's Envoy like these days? No, I know it's not BA F or even J, and no, it doesn't compare to Asian carriers, and maybe not even UA, AA, CO, or DL. But still, I'd like to hear from you: happy, sad, angry, or glad. There are virtually no US Envoy trip reports on FT in the last two years, and I plan on writing all about this (with pics!)
Thanks so much in advance.
