As someone who has flown IB J-class on ORD-MAD a few times, I am also concerned about an extension of the transatlantic exclusion to these flights. Hopefully at least the code-sharing will survive.
But I have to disagree with the claim that IB has lie-flat business class seats. They are angled and only marginally better than the AA seats. BA is years ahead in this department.
