I believe the LHR~MAD route has been operated as a joint venture for some time so I don't think the merger will have much impact. I may be wrong in this, but I don't expect this merger, assuming it gets completed, to have a huge impact on routes or customers - I believe BA said as much during their results presentation earlier this year. Of course, what they say and what they do won't necessarily be the same thing!
