CO apparently is having real problems with its automated EUA system as well. I have a similar situation - still waiting for a platinum elite upgrade. I bought the ticket over a month ago and is a fairly inexpensive ticket but far from a super cheap fare. 5 days out, 4 days out, 3 days out - no upgrade. I'm looking at seats and there's loads of seats up front (I know - not all are from the upgrade bucket but since I've been monitoring at 6 days out the number of open seats hasn't changed). I called the elite line yesterday and innocently asked if everything was correct in my record since I hadn't seen any upgrade as yet. He replied that everything is in order and that there are upgrade seats showing as available and that my chances looked good for an upgrade, but that "the upgrade system hasn't been operating properly since the move to *A". He said that he's seen lots of folks not get upgraded at their window when they should have been, but that they still "should" get upgraded in the correct priority, but as late as at the gate. I mentioned to him that I haven't received an elite upgrade at 5 days out for at least a year, and he didn't seem very surprised to hear that. It's now 2 days out for me and still no upgrade, and my return is 3 days out and no upgrade either with 14 seats showing open (again, probably not all upgrade bucket seats). In contrast, last week I flew on a deeply discounted Delta ticket and received my plat upgrades promptly at 5 days out.

If this is the new Continental, I'll take Delta with all their problems. Upgrades are perhaps the most important perk of being elite to me, and if CO doesn't deliver I'll go to someone that will.
