While I wish no harm upon the 168 chain, I think it's important to note a few key points:

-rates at their better situated properties tend to start at 268 or higher (i.e. the rest are are a ~y30 cab ride away from the places you actually want to see)
-I don't know of any 168s in BJ or SH that compare favorably with the Orange or the brand new Jing'an Swiss (sorry to keep bringing up the Swiss, but at y350, it's one of the best --non-mistake-- hotel deals on the planet)
-the 装修 is terrible

In closing, for travelers that have no other info at their disposal, 168s generally comprise a decent option, but it's not too hard to find better alternatives.
