I don't think they will transfer TPs from your previous year to your new year. However, some people who missed out on renewing Gold by a small margin have been automatically renewed anyway. Not sure what the precise criteria are.

Anyway, given you will be earning so many TPs in the next couple of months, you should only have a very short period early next year before you move back to Gold (assuming you include 4 BA flights), so it's surely hardly going to matter.
