Remember that you also get what you pay for...if there is a problem of any kind with the service, and you would like a travel agent to intervene on your behalf, he/she who rebated you 1/2 or 2/3 of the commission isn't going to want to do that. Basically, discounters are good if, a)- you already know exactly who/what/where/when you want to book, and, b)- you plan on taking care of any customer service issues that might arise directly with the supplier. Any level of "service" you may receive from a discounter is purely gravy on the plate and shouldn't be expected.
