EWR is easier than JFK(if going to Manhattan, Jersey is a no brainer) Upstate New York, JFK is probably more convenient.

BUT talk about Terminal B. There is nothing there and it's pretty much a disgrace. So for Star passengers coming in on any airline but Continental always have to make the schlep to C which is rather bad. So unless CO manages to integrate these airlines in their operations and make EWR a real Star HUB, EWR is at disadvantage. Also departure during busy TATL hours is bad, too. Waiting for takeoff takes forever, gates are blocked for incoming aircraft, etc.

JFK is probably the best known IATA abbreviation ever, known probably to the majority of passengers, nobody says John F. Kennedy Airport New York but rather JFK.
Many times when checking in for EWR with LH, the CI agents ask me about EWR and what's actually in Newark. Nobody knows how to pronounce the town Newark properly.

More important than MUC-EWR by CO would be IAH-MUC.
