Just played with the DoubleTree app at dinner (didn't know the Hilton one was live).

Initial reaction: meh. It's just a glorified version of Hilton's Mobile website. Information is cluttered and disorganized. What lightbulb were the designers smoking out of when they decided to use MAPQUEST for the map function instead of the iPhone's built in map feature? Hello! The map is just a little thumbnail with no zoom out/in functions. That would be useful, if I were lost only in a two by two block radius of the hotel. Complete utter fail.

The HHonors account tab only shows HHonors #, Status Level, and total points. Useless if I want to see if/when a bonus was posted, or any line item activity.

The one nice part: Requests Upon Arrival. I ordered extra pillows for a DT stay tomorrow. We'll see.

It's almost as if the designers didn't bother to check out the SPG App to see the functionality. Everything good about SPG's mobile app wasn't extrapolated to Hilton/DoubleTrees. So what's the point of copying this marginality seven times and just slapping a different name on each.
