Not to directly challenge your statement, but I have been able to change from a T fare to a K fare (for the April-May Double/triple MQM promo) and was not assessed a change fee. Note: Exact same flight itinerary only fare class was changed. Was this deviation from the norm? Is it different for domestic vs. international? I was under the impression that my request was business as usual. I didn't even have to ask for the fee to be waived - the agent acted as if it didn't apply in this case. Now I'm curious if I got away with something here.
