Sadly most of my friends in the CW/F cabins can't. Rather than being aristocratic men of leisure, they're overworked sods trying to eek out as much social life as they can.
A star example was a friend, C, who came out to join me in New York for Hallowe'en:
Canary Wharf office (Friday 3pm) -> LCY -> BA 003 ->
NYC (Friday 10pm) -> Hallowe'en (Saturday) -> Brunch (Sunday) ->
JFK -> BA 002 -> Canary Wharf office (Monday 8pm).
The day time flight to London would be an unaffordable luxury. In fact another friend was annoyed when I said that C was joining me in New York for Hallowe'en: "What! He told me he couldnt' come to New Orleans for Hallowe'en because he couldn't spare the time off work." I replied that he had been right.
