In my personal experience, I have seen it work both ways. Keep in mind there are 3 levels of redemption with DL, low, medium and high.

I have seen the redemption level slide from medium to low, from high to medium, from low to medium etc.

Its anyones guess as to what will happen, but to answer your question, it does occurr. There are to many variables to list as to what affects the redemption level from sliding up or down.
