I just got back from Amankila and had an amazing time (I will write a separate report). We stayed in Ocean Suite number 37, which has some of the best views in the resort - absolutely spectacular. This was the mock-up suite that was built first. It has similar views to the Indrakila suite but is 2 levels higher (you can actually see a small sliver of the Indrakila pool). I could have spent days just staring out to sea. There are no other suites to the left, just forest, so the views from the bathroom and bedroom windows at the side of the suite are also superb.

My advice would be to request suite 37 or stay in the Indrakila suite if your budget allows it. I may be wrong, but I don't think the smaller pool suites have views. I would avoid these as there are so many pools at Amankila and you really don't want to miss out on the views.

On the subject of Alila - we sailed past it and it looks as though the entire beach has been washed away. Very sad.
