I'm pretty sure that the general guideline is still to be at the airport 90 minutes before scheduled departure...........had you done so, you'd have made the original flight.

The alerts are a courtesy, but a departure time can change on a dime--we just assume that it'll always be later and not sooner............

I don't see any of what you've experienced to be a problem with SW..........just time management..............
