I wouldn't read too much into it - these sorts of presentations go on all the time. That said, I'm sure that Continental and United (who, of course, have ATI in the DXB market) will be closely examining the ex-NYC/IAH traffic flows onto various United longhaul flights to the MidEast (and from next year, Africa), with an eye towards CO possibly introducing flights to those destinations from its own hubs when the 787 arrives.
