Not sure who you are visiting, but almost the entire online group is now based in Bellevue which is a short walk from the Westin there. Avoid the Sheraton Bellevue, its a dump. If you have never been to Seattle, I suggest the W as it is in the heart of downtown and walking distance to all things "touristy". The traffic sucks but if you leave seattle before 7:30 you can make it to Redmond in less than 25 mins.
Redmond/Bellevue are the suburbs of Seattle with little or nothing to do.
Not sure of the last time you have been in Redmond or Bellevue, but actually there is quite a bit to do (new restaurants, shopping, bars, clubs, wine shops, etc.) and no paying for parking unlike downtown.
As far as where to stay - I would stay in Redmond at either the Residence Inn, Marriott, or another hotel but that's because the traffic is really bad coming and going from downtown.
