Thumbs down Update on ba

Im in the Galleries Lounge at T5 in LHR right now and there is a lot of confusion regarding the baggage allowances w/ regards to Oneworld Elites. I had the lady call their office to figure out the rules.
According to the agents here at LHR (through a phone call since they didn’t know the answer) say that even Oneworld Elites are NOT exempted from the 2nd baggage fee if flying Y.
However, I was told that if you get ticketed on AA stock (or a OW carrier that has a more liberal baggage allowance and connect on BA) and start your journey from the USA, if you start your journey with 2 bags (ie you fly USA-LHR-Europe on BA-LHR-USA) BA SHOULD NOT charge you on your return flight even if they only allow 1 bag on the outbound. The first carrier’s baggage allowance is followed.

So I was told that IF you get charged to call Customer Service to get a refund of the paid bag as long as the above rules where followed.

As for Malev, the piece concept does not apply. You can check in 23 kg (~50 pounds) of luggage (as many pieces as you want). Their Duna Club elites get extra weight allowances. Nothing is mentioned about OW elite benefits, but perhaps you could call and confirm.

Yes, I booked the LAX-LHR flight before the 7th but I was on AA. So that doesn't really matter. I flew J on AA.

With regards to Malev I have 2x 23Kg bags. So does that mean I will be alright (I'm PLT after all)?
The way I read the website is that only 1x 23kg is allowed and the 2nd bag would be "our Platinum, Gold and Silver members of the Duna Club may check in an additional 25, 15 and 10 kg of excess baggage, respectively." How about Oneworld Elites?
