It should definitely be left, because, if your flight lands on runway 4R, and you sit on the NY side (which would be the right), you will then have a view of the Jersey shore and Staten Island, since you will be approaching from the south.

If you sit on the right side, and the flight makes the runway 22L approach, you will see Manhattan and NY Harbor (incl the Statue of Liberty).
