Your US issued student IDs are useless in Europe.
ISIC does help in Europe for attractions such as museums, just look at the website to see if the discounts will be more than the price of the card.

I had a Euro<26 card in Europe and it was fantastic, so I cant comment on the usefullness of ISIC.
