I am visiting my family in Southern California over Thanksgiving, and they have suggested visiting the Mission Inn in Riverside to see their Festival of Lights on the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving. The pictures on the web site look quite stunning.

Do y'all have any suggestions on what else there is to do in or near Riverside?

(I ived in LA for two years and have explored a fair bit of the surrounding area, but I don't know much about Riverside and the Inland Empire, other than the Claremont Colleges. Also, we went to Palm Springs and Joshua Tree two years ago.)
