One of our inarguable basic rights is the right to privacy. By the TSA using the MMW as a primary screening procedure or using the MMW as a secondary screening procedure while hiding from the average passenger the actual nature of the machine violates common decency and the basic right of privacy.

A reasonable person expects their privates to remain private. Unlike a metal detector, puffer, swab or even the SPO-7, the MMW does not detect anything. Just like a regular strip search it is up to the TSO to look at your naked body and determined if you are carrying anything that may possibly be contraband.

To answer your question, using the machines as the are being used currently is indecent. I don't feel the images are pornographic, but my level of "porn" may not be another's. People from different backgrounds and cultures have different standards.

I used to work a store that sold jewelry, the girl that worked at the Chinese restaurant was kind enough to bring my lunch before it got cold. She admired an anklet but was not sure it would fit. I suggested she try it on and she blushed and informed me she could never do that. I did not understand but allowed her to take it back to the restaurant to try on.

Later I asked her brother what the deal was. He told me that where they were from, showing the ankle was akin to flashing a breast. Decent women just do not do that.
