I'm so good, I'm so good, I'm good, I'm good, I'm good!
SFO - SEA, AS 313, last one down the jetway, seated, buckled and all electronics off with 22 minutes 'till scheduled departure time. Was twiddling my thumbs, but I was ready to go. We did push back early, so I am glad I could contribute to this early departure out of SFO.
The plane tethered at Gate 20, for those of you that know the gate, there's a wall and post which seperates the terminal walkway from the gate seating area. TSA, 5 of them, were trying to inconspicuously monitor the gate agents' boarding process from that vantage point. The fellow did a fabulous job, even making a pair of coach passengers wait off to the side because they were out of cue (they were in the front part of coach while boarding was in progress for only the rear of the aircraft). Big cudos for the AS gate agent for following the procedure and also for the passengers paying attention. It was very orderly except for the crowd at the bottleneck where everyone enters the gate area (which was the cause of me boarding last to begin with).
In the jetway another cadre of TSA agents looking at water bottles and backpacks. They waved me by. I'm glad I fit the bill of an innocent traveler who boards last, gets the upgrade at the 72 hour mark to 1A and departs early!
I did have to pay $50 for my 67lb sample case of wares of the trade. No getting around that - I tried curbside, poor fellow almost busted a nut, gave him $5 for the effort, counter agent was super nice and suggested that I move 17lbs over into my rollalong. I appreciated that. The over limit charge was more than I paid for the fare!
