I agree with you emma, usually not worth fighting these small things, if for no other reason that it's just not worth the aggravation.
At the time (as I think is clear from my OP) I didn't even plan on making an official complaint but happy to have filed one now since, as all the AA experts here believe, this could have a positive impact.
^ Please let us know the outcome - you'll likely get an immediate auto-response, but hopefully something more personal will come within a few days. If they don't address your experience specifically, then you can try writing back and asking them to reread (sometimes necessary).
