I've been on the phone with the diamond line a few times now, and they refuse to credit these points. One agent even called the hotel and came back saying they had never heard about such a bonus. Should I just give up on chasing these points?
FWIW, I too got this "personal preferences survey" recently at HR YVR. I have never seen this survey offered before anywhere else. I asked at checkout how it works and they said that the Front Desk sends it off to the hotel Sales Dept who then credits us with 2k pts. The front desk clerk did not input the R2 code on my reservation nor did 2k bonus pts post to my acct when the stay posted to my GP acct. From what the front desk clerk said, it seemed like I might need to wait awhile before the survey made it through all the proper channels until the bonus pts posted. My guess is that there's a 50% chance of the points never posting, but what do I know?

I doubt GP knows anything about this survey as it seemed property specific. And front desk clerks are notorious for not knowing much about promos (although the front desk clerks at HR YVR were quite good I might add ^^^). I'd say your best bet if you really want to chase these pts would be to call the hotel's Sales Dept. and ask where your R2 bonus is. But personally I would probably give them about 2-3 months before calling in about it. If it just takes 2-3 months to post, you are wasting your time and energy by calling in early.
