Yeah. The property of apparent innocents is basically never looked at.
When I was growing up we took a couple of very long trips totaling about 20 months and 38 countries (46 border crossings, though.) The stricter countries often looked at my parents luggage, rarely looked at mine (the first of the two trips I was 9) and never once examined my mother's cane. She was blind and had a folding cane for when she needed to get around on her own. (Big example: Women's rooms.) It consisted of sections of metal pipe with a cable running through the whole thing--shift a level in the handle and the cable is shortened pulling the whole thing into a rigid shaft. Note that this means it's hollow and anyone looking at it in it's folded state can clearly see that it's hollow. Nobody anywhere ever examined either it or the homemade carrier she carried it in.
