Besides the natural resource-related traffic, there is the substantial VFR traffic. Speaking of the VFR flows, I wouldn't discount the substantial population of West Africans who have settled in the US. They and their American relatives like to visit their friends and relatives in Africa.

Spring break is a quite popular period of time for US-Africa trips. More so VFR traffic than anything else.
