I really like the Marriott DFW South - with the caveat that it is a standard FS Marriott property - i.e. nothing exceptional in terms of location, spectacular views, or unique touches.
My experiences are all as a Platinum elite member. You say that this is your first stay as an "elite" memeber, so I am not sure if you mean Silver, Gold or Platinum, and that may affect some of the amenities to which you are entitled. However, I received a club floor room, lounge access, and free wireless Internet at the hotel. In addition, my welcome amenity offered a beer, which is standard Samuel Adams, but the hotel was happy to substitute my request for a Shiner Bock. While the lounge is nothing special, I recall their being something hot on the breakfast side, and some kind of hors d'oeurves in the evening. My one lounge complaint, if I am remembering this hotel correctly, was in the dessert selection - maybe only cookies after 7:30ish.
I also find that I can always score a very reasonable rate - and the hotel is far enough away from the airport that there is no parking charge, if you have a car.
