I try to avoid the glove issue by having everything in my carry on bag in Zip-Loc bags that are not overpacked so everything can be seen.

I also have new, fresh and clean Zip-Loc bags for repacking. Hotel rooms aren't so clean.

99% of the screeners in the US and elsewhere have been very professional when checking my stuff.

If your carry on bag is packed so it looks like the dog's dinner, expect the screener to paw through it.
