I am going to be meeting a friend arriving from IAH (CO) and I am arriving from LAX (SQ11) and from my limited understanding, baring an on-going ticket we cannot meet at any given lounge.

In the past (at other airports), he and I have purchased fully refundable ticket and used that ticket for transit access and lounge access. After meeting we would shower, etc. and then refund the ticket and leave the airport.

Would that process work at NRT or is there no way to enter Japan from the departure level?
