haha...thanks for the DHS address...as if

Honestly, I do feel like wriitng a letter explaining that we dont want to start a media campaign about what is going on...but i feel like that would just get me/us/our entire extended family and anyone we have ever come into contact with/etc further into this game.

it it not racial profiling, we look pretty typical, upper middle class american. yes, sure, there are drug lords and serial killers who fit right in, but he doenst fit some terrorist or coke addict profile, just your typical professional.

trying to figure this out for years and it is such a bureaucratic nightmare. it there anyone "lower" down than the secretary of homeland security? I mean, we dont even know where to start.

Honestly, weve dealt with it for years. business trips he carries on only, so them searching his bags takes 30 min tops.

And (confession here-hope this doesnt make his situation worse) without a baby, since I have kept my maiden name, we cleared customs seperately, me with all our baggage, and him with an overnight bag and laptop bag. but with a kid now (whose passport has DH's last name)...and bottles [our one bottle filled with fresh formula from onboard an airfrance fight was confiscated for "security purposes" as was the sealed container of Enfamil purchased in america before our trip when my baby was 4 months old, and he screamed for the next hour since he had nothing to drink and was too young for anything but formula] ...suitcases filled with dirty clothes...and toys that are electronic and have been unscrewed [seroiusly, do you really think my son's fisherprice toy phone is a threat? or is filled with some illicit substance I havent even heard of??] screened and broken, and a crying baby in tow in a windowless room for an hour filled with coughing immigrants carrying who knows what...well, I have pretty much had it. And like I said, we love to travel, but our last two return flights together have been total nightmares.

My guess is that my husband's (rather uncommon, but not foregin terrorst sounding) name is being confused with someone else on a "watch list." because this is like beyond absurd.
