- The only "guaranteed" way to earn/get the Gx bonus is to include the code in the "Special Offer Code" when booking.
- If the code was not added during booking, the next best step is to get CS to add the code before the stay, but this is at the discretion of the agent.
- If #1 or #2 is not the case, the next best step is to get the agent to add the code during check-in, but again, this is at the discretion of the check-in agent. (Will check-in agents know what I'm talking about if I ask to have a Gx code added?)
- If not #1, 2, or 3, the last opportunity is to call CS and get the code added after the stay posts to your account, but again, this is at the discretion of the CS agent.
- There is no way (without contacting CS) to tell if an existing reservation was booked with the Gx code.
I've never felt a need to include step 2. Step 1 is easy; step 3 is easy; Step 4 is surefire. As for front desk clerks knowing about Gx bonuses, they do at full service properties but rarely at Hyatt Places.
