I flown in & out both SFO & LAX in the last 30 years so I figured it out UA Int'l hub in west coast are pretty much based in SFO, nicer terminal than TBIT, more immigration counters, easier transfer between other UA flights...why bother to fly UA to LAX & transit it over there...unless you have some important business to do...!
