Even though you dont want to seem to be one of those quick to ask for compensation, its seems that indeed you ARE one of those.
Sure its an inconvenience, but I agree with other posters, if its screwed up your daily schedule then you have not left much leeway. Sure, AC would have sorted those on any missed connections.
What, if.....
- There is an long delay at immigration on an international flight (non US as they are pre-cleared)
-A simultaneous baggage delay..... not impossible either.
All these could very easily add up to a significant delay (more than an hour) that would not be considered for compensation, who would you bleat to then?
