If you've never been there, it's worth a look for it's pure licentiousness. Hua Hin is about the same drive with a better class of people about. It's a great little town. it's very clean since the Royal Family lives there. The Sheraton is actually in Cha Am, 5 miles N. I haven't stayed there yet, because a good friend bought a B & B in HH. You can get a minibus at Victory Monument ($8), a taxi for $50 or so, or rent a car (if you're adventurous). The Starwood properties on Phuket are all pretty nice and the beaches are better than HH. I really like the Sheraton Krabi and the Meridien Khao Lak as well. They are both kind of self contained and a ways from town though. You can fly to Krabi or Phuket for cheap ($30) on Air Asia or Nok. For a mix of nice beaches and entertainment - Phuket , IMO. Plenty of gay oriented nitelife in Patong. The Meridien is closer to that and a nice property. Best beach on the island IMO - Kata Noi. Chock Dee: wj
Great post!!.....I agree with everything here......I would add that Pattaya is a disgrace to Thailand and even the human spirit........but possibly worth a quick look......
