Is it yet confirmed (I recall an earlier inconclusive discussion on this point) whether the two Diamond choices must be different--i.e., one cannot chose 6 SWUs for one choice and again 6 more SWUs for the second choice, so that one could by this logic get a total of 16 for 2010? Also, for Diamonds, are the 4 SWUs or other choices on the Plat list a one-time-only 2010 benefit at Plat due to the spring implementation of the new level, so that in later years Diamonds will get 0 or 6 (or maybe 12) SWUs? (This looks like an incentive for DL to actually start Diamond on March 1 in order to avoid giving away the Plat choices to new Diamonds.) Or in later years, will SM members get one Plat choice when they reach 75,000 miles and two Di (we need an abbreviation for this!) choices when reaching 125,000 miles each year, possibly both on January 1 for those with huge rollovers? Could one even chose 6 SWUs early in the year, postpone making the second choice, and then later either pick 6 more SWUs if the earlier ones have been used or, for instance, 25K bonus miles otherwise?
You know
MSPeconomist that is a very fair point as that is not clear at all as to how many SWUs one will get when the new program comes into being.:-: Let me think how to reflect that without "muddying the waters" too much.
