I would lean towards tolerable quick and pricey, if you are over 40 and have disposable income, if younger and you have a good sense of humour, and limited funds, overland is "fun", well it's different and full of unexpected circumstances like taxis dropping you off at the wrong place for a visa etc. Yep, I am getting older, regards bkkrop
It's one of the most used tourist border crossings in SEAsia and now that the road is paved, incredibly tame. Get on a bus in BKK, get off in Cambodia.
Then take the boat down the Tonle Sap to PP and fly back to BKK.
